What and Where My Heart is About |
Born in Florida, I am a warm ocean fanatic living in Talkeetna, Alaska. My mother was a travel agent and she and my father took me all over the world, exposing me to all types of cultures, economics, and natural horizons. As a result I love to travel a lot because there is so much to see!
Somewhere along the line I realized I was in love with wildlife and the serenity that Nature has to offer.
In 1990 I adopted a dog from the Anchorage Animal Shelter. She was beautiful adult Husky mix, but refused to listen to any command and was highly frustrating. A few people suggested she looked like a wolf hybrid so I did some research and learned how to speak to a wolf. I applied what I learned and she listened and loved me. Then I purchased an 82% papered wolf boy pup. This led me into actively working in wolf education for many years.
In 1992 I formed an online company called “Fathom-the Depth of Understanding." My goal was, and still is, to make people aware of wildlife conservation projects on all types of animals around the world. I found artists from all over the globe to dedicate works to Fathom to sell in behalf of specific wildlife projects. When a consumer received their purchase they would also get information about a specific project and 10% of that purchase price was donated to that project.
Fathom was up and running for 7 years online and participating in art shows in New York, Florida, and down the West Coast, but I never could truly get it off the ground into a true profit margin. It never made it out of its first phase, but I have great plans for its growth. This is a business that I want to get back into but with a team (instead of by myself) and a better plan of execution. I still see it as part of my future.
The Fathom goal will be incorporated into my latest investment with my own production company. It is my future to film Nature Adventure and Wildlife Education to promote conservation and preservation of our earth.
